Fluid Yoga

We will dynamically link the flowing nature of the breath with mindful, continual movement and creative sequencing. This heat-building vinyasa flow will not only increase strength and flexibility, but also train the mind to be more content and relaxed throughout the most difficult challenges on and off the mat. Using the classical elements as inspiration, we will become grounded and refine our balance with the earth, explore flowing movement and grace in the manner of water, ignite fire within our bodies through core strengthening and detoxification, and empower the air flowing within us through breath control and mind training. All classes end with a guided savasana, to embrace our space element and rejuvenate the spirit. The ultimate goal is for students to leave class feeling peaceful, powerful and blissful. Come prepared with an open mind and mindful approach. All levels of experience will be nurtured and challenged.

 

Note: Emily's Vinyasa classes are based on a Fluid Yoga style.

Alignment/Flow

Though mindful sequencing and movement, this class will give you the tools you need to feel more connected to your body, breath, and the space around you. Come with an open mind that will focus on clear alignment to give you strength and stability within the postures so you can experience the flow and freedom within your life.  Each class will be a different focus through the artful sequencing of asana with a theme threaded throughout the practice so you leave with a fresh, new perspective.

Gentle

This gentle flow class will get you to connect more deeply to your breath while moving through a balance of various flowing movements and stillness. If you are dealing with restricted movement/stagnant energy for whatever reason and want to reconnect to your body and breath again, this is the class for you.

Y12SR

Yoga of 12-Step Recovery was created as a holistic model to address the physical, mental and spiritual dis-ease of addiction. Informed by the latest research in neuroscience and trauma healing, Y12SR “connects the dots” by combining the somatic approach of yoga with the cognitive approach of the 12-step recovery model – the most well-known addiction recovery program in the world, with millions of active practitioners. Y12SR is not meant to be a replacement for 12 step meetings, but rather an adjunct.

SPA Yoga

A slow-flow, floor-based, whole-body sensory experience based on Fluid Yoga sequencing. By engaging all five of the senses with soft candlelight, soothing music, aromatherapy, lots of hands-on assists and a renewed awareness of taste (and sometimes chocolate!). SPA aligns practitioners with the inner wisdom of deep relaxation. The physical practice takes time to open the body’s subtle energy and prepares students to experience new depths of awareness in an extended, guided savasana.

Yoga4Cancer

Whether you are a cancer patient, survivor, newly diagnosed, in treatment, gathering strength or thriving, yoga can further your recovery and help you feel whole again. You may even find new confidence you have never known. But not all yoga classes are right for cancer patients and survivors.  And for some, taking a yoga class can be intimidating because of the unique physical and emotional needs that cancer & its treatments bring. y4c offers classes & privates tailored to address the specific needs of cancer patients and survivors.  These classes are not one-size-fits-all, nor simply a gentle yoga class.
